I deal with life adventures by writing about what’s happening and using my pen to work through thoughts and feelings. I have shelves full of notebooks that are just sitting there unread, gathering dust, but thanks to the Internet and blog technology it was easy to copy & paste some of my last 10+ years of writing onto this website. And I continue to write.
Here’s what you’ll find on this site:
Little Spitfire (2005-2006)
On New Year’s day of 2005 I set myself the goal of writing every day. The adventure starts here.
D.I.N.K.s on the Farm (2007-2008)
My life partner Brock and I decided to abandon our penthouse in the city and start an organic vegetable farm. Read all about it here.
A Year of Re-skilling (2010-2014)
Farming naturally led to learning all kinds of cool practical skills. I set about learning more with a group of amazing women friends. Click here to read how it went.
Terminal Cancer, Day by Day (2015-2017)
Then my life partner Brock got stage 4 kidney cancer, and I started writing again.
Our Plan B Life (2017 to present)
After Brock died, I moved with our son back to my hometown. The adventures (and grieving) continue.
Pandemic Diaries (March 16, 2020 onward)
Our world changed suddenly in March when the global coronavirus / COVID-19 pandemic reached our little mountain town. Isaac had a cough and fever on the first day of spring break, and we went into self-isolation. Here’s a daily record.
The Writing Life
In 2022 I started writing my third mystery novel, with funding support from the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance and the Columbia Basin Trust. I built myself a new, publication-focused website and now post daily updates here.
